PRIYANSHU

Age: 13 Years

Class:6

“From collecting scraps on the streets to collecting certificates of excellence.”

Four years ago, Priyanshu spent his days picking rags from the roadside to help his family survive. Today, he proudly attends school, studies in Class 6, and recently emerged as the topper of his academic session—an extraordinary transformation made possible through education, guidance, and unwavering belief.

A Story That Redefines Hope

There are some stories that statistics can never fully explain.

Priyanshu’s is one of them.

Before he learned multiplication tables, he learned which streets had the most recyclable waste.

Before he carried school books, he carried sacks filled with discarded plastic and paper.

Every morning, while other children walked toward classrooms, Priyanshu walked through roads searching for scraps that could help his family earn enough to survive.

Education felt like a dream meant for someone else.

When our team first met him, we didn’t see a rag picker.

We saw a bright child hidden beneath difficult circumstances—a child who needed someone to tell him that his future could be different.

Bringing Priyanshu into Asha Ki Kiran Foundation was only the beginning.

Years of missed education meant he had to start almost from the basics. Reading was difficult. Writing required patience. Concentrating inside a classroom after years on the streets was a challenge.

But what he lacked in preparation, he made up for with determination.

Every day he studied harder.

Every mistake became another lesson.

Every small success became another reason to believe in himself.

Gradually, the same child who once searched through waste began searching through books with curiosity and excitement.

The transformation amazed everyone.

Then came the moment that none of us will ever forget.

At the end of the academic session, Priyanshu didn’t just pass.

He topped his class.

For a child who had once believed education was beyond his reach, standing first was more than an academic achievement—it was a declaration that circumstances can never define destiny.

Today, Priyanshu studies in Class 6 with confidence and dreams of a future filled with possibilities rather than limitations.

His story reminds us that children are never born without potential.

Sometimes they are simply born without opportunities.

At Asha Ki Kiran Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to rewrite their story.

Priyanshu has already begun writing his.

And it is one of the most inspiring chapters we have ever witnessed.
