Three years ago, Ayush had almost accepted that education was no longer a part of his life. Today, with the support of Asha Ki Kiran Foundation, he has returned to school, restarted his education, and is building a future that once seemed impossible.
The Boy Who Chose Books Again
Every child deserves a classroom.
But not every child gets one.
For Ayush, childhood was interrupted far too early.
He lost his father at a young age, leaving his family in deep financial distress. With no stable source of income, survival became more important than education. After studying only up to Class 2, Ayush was forced to leave school.
Instead of carrying a school bag, he began carrying responsibilities.
Along with his elder brother, he worked at a small shop to help support the family. Days that should have been spent learning mathematics and reading stories were spent earning enough to put food on the table. As months turned into years, school became a distant memory.
Like many children caught in the cycle of poverty, Ayush slowly began believing that education was simply not meant for him.
Then, three years ago, his journey took a different turn.
When Asha Ki Kiran Foundation met Ayush, we did not see a school dropout—we saw a child whose dreams had only been paused. Through patient counselling, bridge education, academic support, and continuous encouragement, we helped him believe that it was never too late to begin again.
Returning to a classroom after years away was not easy.
He had forgotten many lessons. He felt older than his classmates. At times, he questioned whether he could catch up.
But every small achievement rebuilt his confidence.
Today, Ayush is back in regular school and studying in Class 6. Every chapter he completes is proof that determination can overcome lost years. He now proudly carries books instead of burdens and dreams instead of worries.
His smile reflects something priceless—a second chance.
